Include perches of varying sizes in the cage and keep chewable wooden toys, like balsa wood, and tissue boxes, bells, popsicle crafts, or other toys to keep them entertained. If you are raising a breeding pair of Half-moon conures, include a nest box that is approximately 12X12X12 inches.

Half moon conure are cheerful and active birds that love to play and be entertained. Trained and tamed Half-moon conures can stay on playpens or parrot perches for long periods without causing any trouble. These birds have friendly personalities and enjoy being cuddled by their owners.

To keep your Half-moon conure healthy, their diet should consist of commercial avian pellets, fresh vegetables and fruits, calcium blocks, and cuttlebones. They enjoy occasional treats of home-cooked eggs, pasta, meat, and fruit juices but should avoid avocado, butter, and salt.

Keep their food and water bowls clean and ensure their cage is well-maintained, free from dirt and dust. It is essential to clip your Half-moon conure’s wings and nails occasionally, as they can become curious and fly from one room to another, putting themselves in harm’s way.
